Kids party FAQ

How much is a kids bowling birthday party at Westbrook Lanes?

Bowling is $11 per bowler for one hour or $18 per bowler for two hours, and shoe rental is included in both. Large plain pizzas are $16.50 ($3.50 per topping) and pitchers of soda are $10. Add-ons like a signing pin ($10) and a balloon bouquet ($5) are optional. Prices exclude Friday and Saturday after 6 PM.

Can we bring our own cake?

Yes. Cake is the one exception to our no-outside-food rule — bring it, and we will handle plates, cutting and cleanup.

Do you have bumpers and lightweight balls for little kids?

We do. Every lane can run bumpers, and we keep a full range of lightweight balls and small-size shoes so even the youngest guests get a real turn.

How many kids can we have?

Anything from a single lane to a large block of our 42 lanes. Tell us your headcount and we will set the right number of lanes and tables. For larger parties and events, email events@westbrooklanes.com.

Is cosmic (laser) bowling available for kids parties?

Laser bowling runs most Saturdays and Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM, depending on tournaments and special events that weekend. Ask when you book and we will confirm for your date.

Do you set up the tables and clean up afterwards?

Yes — that is the whole point. Table and chair set-up is on request at no charge, and when the last frame is done you walk out and leave the mess to us.

Westbrook Lanes Family Bowling Center · 1 Creek Road, Brooklawn, NJ 08030

Why South Jersey Bowlers Choose Westbrook Lanes

Driving across the Delaware River to Philadelphia for a decent lane is a trip most South Jersey families skip — and they should. Westbrook Lanes sits right in Brooklawn, minutes from Gloucester City, Bellmawr, Collingswood, and West Deptford, putting quality bowling within easy reach of dozens of South Jersey neighborhoods without the bridge toll or the parking headache.

The center has operated in the community since 1966, which means the staff knows the regulars by name and first-timers by their questions. That continuity shows in the details: 42 lanes kept consistently smoke-free, a pro shop (Big Jim's) stocked for casual and competitive bowlers alike, a full bar at the Joe 300 Lounge, and cosmic bowling sessions that turn a Friday or Saturday night into something a little more electric.

South Jersey's bowling scene runs the range from casual open play to serious league competition. Westbrook Lanes covers both ends — active leagues for adults and youth, individual lessons, and open lanes any day of the week for the group that just wants to get out of the house.

What to Expect When You Come In

Open bowling at Westbrook Lanes is exactly what it sounds like: show up, grab a lane, rent shoes if you need them, and bowl. No membership, no reservation required for casual visits — though calling ahead or reserving a lane online is always an option if your group wants a guaranteed spot, especially on weekend evenings when cosmic bowling draws a crowd.

Parties and group outings get the full-service treatment: lanes reserved, tables set, bumpers up for the kids, and staff on hand so the person who organized the event actually gets to enjoy it. The same approach carries into school outings, company events, and fundraisers — Westbrook's event team has run enough of them to handle the logistics without needing hand-holding.

If you're newer to bowling or want to sharpen your game before league season, lessons are available. And if the bug really bites, Big Jim's Pro Shop can fit you for a ball and bag so you're not borrowing house equipment every visit.

Common questions

Is Westbrook Lanes actually one of the best bowling alleys in NJ, or just the closest?

It earns the reputation on its own merits. Sixty-plus years in the same community, 42 smoke-free lanes, a full pro shop, active leagues, cosmic bowling nights, and a bar make it a complete bowling center — not just a convenient one. Families and leagues from across South Jersey choose to drive past closer options to bowl here.

What nights and times are best for open bowling at Westbrook Lanes?

Open lanes are available seven days a week, but weekend evenings — especially when cosmic bowling runs Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 PM — tend to fill up faster. Weekday afternoons and evenings are typically more relaxed if you want a quieter experience. Call ahead on weekends to confirm lane availability, especially if you have a larger group.

Do you need to be in a league to bowl here regularly, or is open bowling always available?

Open bowling is always available — no league membership required. You can walk in any day of the week and get a lane. Leagues are there if you want structured competition and a regular weekly spot, but plenty of regulars at Westbrook Lanes never join a league and simply bowl on their own schedule.
